Overview
We are seeking an energetic and strategic Senior Manager of Development to lead our fundraising and relationship-building efforts. In this pivotal role, you will drive the organization’s growth by cultivating partnerships, managing donor relations, and implementing innovative development strategies.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive annual fundraising plan with SMART goals.
  • Segment donors (major donors, corporate sponsors, and small donors) to tailor strategies.
  • Regularly update the Executive Director on potential donors.
  • Analyze trends, economic factors, and donor demographics to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate success and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Participate in strategic planning to align fundraising with the organization’s mission.
  • Explore diverse funding sources to reduce reliance on one.
  • Prepare reports for stakeholders and refine strategies accordingly.
  • Plan, strategize, execute, and oversee fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives to engage supporters and raise funds.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing donors and recruit new ones.
  • Update Harbor Sponsor list, seeking new and getting renewals.
  • Ensure the website and social media platforms are strategically used and effective.
  • Lead and manage the Development Department.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to prepare, monitor, and manage the development budget, ensuring effective resource allocation

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree and five or more years of sales, development and fundraising, and/or programming experience preferred
  • Transparent and high integrity leadership
  • High-level strategic thinking and planning and the ability to envision and convey the organization’s strategic future to the staff, board, volunteers, donors, and the community
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff. Strong organizational abilities including collaborating, delegating, and task facilitation.
  • Solid proven budget management skills including budget preparation, analysis, decision making, and reporting
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Computer skills with Word, Excel, Google products and Raiser’s Edge, Galaxy, and Apricot softwares
  • Flexible and adaptable work style with the ability to work some nights and weekends, manage competing demands, and changing priorities. Must be available for special events
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy and proactively engages in professional development.
  • Be willing to submit to and honor the standards outlined in Safe Harbor’s Team Code of Conduct.

  • Evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with Safe Harbors Statement of Faith, with a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ 1 Cor. 11:1
  • Show by example the importance of Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowship 1 Peter 5:3
  • Have a passion for evangelism and the spiritual welfare of all served by the ministry to include program participants, guests, volunteers, customers, contributors, and staff. Matthew 28:19,20
  • Encouraged to attend and financially support a local church whose beliefs are aligned with Safe Harbor’s Statement of Faith
  • Abstain from activities or addictions that have a detrimental effect on clients or the reputation of the ministry. According to the teachings of Romans 14:13-23, to prevent becoming a stumbling block to those within the ministry who may be struggling with addictions, (Titus 2:11,12)

Pay: $50,000.00 – $53,000.00 per year
