Job Summary

The primary function of the Web and Digital Designer is to plan and execute the design of CCU’s websites, including regular maintenance and upgrading of the design in response to branding, messaging, and digital marketing trends. In addition, the designer is responsible for designing templates for other digital media at the University, including digital signs and email marketing. The designer also works collaboratively with the Digital Technology Manager to ensure best practices for development and implementation of digital designs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

-Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred.
-Expertise in web graphic design, web user interface design, and web programming, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
-Expertise with specific graphics tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign; ability to quickly develop proficiency in CCU’s content management tool – Cascade.
-Stays up to date on digital design and web development trends.
-Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
-Excellent attention to detail.
-Good sense of design, including how to translate print materials to digital media.
-Effective communication skills.
-Strong research and analysis skills.
-Able to work independently on a variety of projects to meet challenging deadlines.
-Strong work ethic; willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Self-motivated and able to work autonomously,
-Accepts and gives direction easily and assists other team members.
-Interacts professionally with employees, clients, vendors, and other constituents.
-Strong commitment to service, quality and excellence.
