The Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia is a faith-based, life recovery program for men, women, and children dealing with all types of addictions, domestic violence, sexual abuse, poverty, homelessness, and other life-challenging issues. For over 70 years, the Mission has provided a path of hope, redemption, and empowerment through Jesus Christ to break the cycle of addiction, violence, and abuse in families.
Assist the Women’s Division staff in the day-to-day operations of the women’s program. Candidates must have a strong passion for serving and loving others. Experience in working with women in recovery is preferred.
Job Duties:
Under the director’s direction, collaborate with coworkers to ensure the program runs efficiently.
Participates in the client intake process.
Facilitate daily classes such as bible study and life skills as assigned by the Director.
Provide grace-filled leadership, compassion, and understanding in dealing with staff, volunteers, and clients of the Mission and Women’s Division.
Recognizes requirements and works to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with accuracy and attention to detail.
Motivated, self-starter who takes initiative to determine what needs to be done and goes about the task of accomplishing the goals associated with the Women’s Division.
Assists the Director in managing, coordinating, and completing the intake application of all candidates for the Women’s Division Program.
Assists the Women’s Division Director in completing the necessary background checks on each client before accepting them into the program
Assists the Women’s Division Director in establishing personal goals for each client.
Maintain and update medication log for the clients of the Women’s Division. Completes the medication logbook for both prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Attending self-evaluations, morning devotion pattern-changing classes, and other special events.
Assists in writing a personal thank you to donors for monthly donations.
Participates with the Director in weekly meetings (progress reports/self-esteem inventory/case plan) with each of the Women’s Division clients.
Upon acceptance into the program, conduct random drug testing, baggage checks, and new resident orientation.
Works directly with the case worker to ensure clients have applied for Food Stamps, WIC, TANF, and other public assistance programs.
Effectively collaborate with partner agencies, such as RiverEdge, DFCS, and Macon Volunteer Clinic, in assisting our clients.
Interview potential clients for eligibility for the program to include crisis calls, emails, and walk-ins.
Coordinates with Men’s Directors any issues needing their assistance in the operation of the Women’s Division.
Attends weekly and special staff meetings and all staff functions, providing reports and goals as directed.
Carry out all RMMG/ Women’s Division policies as approved by the board of Directors.
Assist in all events, programs, and ministries of RMMG as needed and other duties as assigned by the President.
Treats all clients/volunteers/staff in a Christ-like manner.
Coordinate appointments and provide transportation using a RMMG vehicle.
Coordinate weekly store run with Logistics Coordinator and Women’s Director.
Recognizes work priorities and meets all clients’ needs.
Utilizes effective communication skills (written and verbal) when interacting with co-workers, supervisors, clients, vendors, donors, guests, and volunteers with appropriate forcefulness and temper.
Maintains client confidentiality as well as maintaining the Mission’s confidentiality.
Provide a positive public image of RMMG to the community and act as a liaison with local churches, supporters, and within the community.
