This position is for the 2025-2026 school year which begins July 9, 2025.

The Music Teacher must be dedicated to work with the school administration, faculty, students and parents in a way that promotes a positive Christian environment.  They must work with students to achieve optimum development of skills and mastery of knowledge by conducting assigned subject-matter of grade-level(s) instruction.

Responsibilities:

– Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to provide instruction in both elementary and intermediate settings with appropriate musical skills for playing, conducting, and musical literature necessary for the implementation of the school’s methodologies for elementary and intermediate musical instruction.
– Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective teaching and learning related to elementary and intermediate music.
– Teach appropriate elementary and intermediate music pedagogy in order to develop students’ understanding, appreciation of the art of music, including listening to a wide range of musical genre, periods and styles.
– Identify, promote and develop each student’s talents in instrumental musical expression.
– Plan, coordinate rehearsals for, and direct students in music programs and performances throughout the year at CCA as well as off campus outreaches.
– Conduct ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
– Select and requisition appropriate music supplies and instrumental equipment, maintain inventory records and ensure equipment is in good working order.
– Teach music notation, music rhythms and playing of selected musical instruments.
– Report attendance and student grades in RenWeb school system.
– Consult with Principal to discuss students’ academic and behavioral issues.
– Communicate classroom goals, projects and homework on a weekly basis to parents.
– Attend morning and afternoon meetings on time.
– Parent-Teacher conferences at least once per year.
– Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout all activities.

Qualifications:

– Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field or 2 years equivalent experience.
– Must have good communication skills and be computer literate.
– Must be accomplished on principal instruments and capable of playing a variety of instruments.
– Ability to effectively communicate information to staff members, students and family members.
– CA Teaching Credential preferred.  TB certification required.
