Job description – Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Chemical Production, Manufacturing, Research and Development Technician and be at the forefront of innovative chemical manufacturing and development! In this vital role, you will be responsible for the production of small scale niche market chemical products, ensuring processes meet quality and safety standards. Your enthusiasm and abilities will help drive efficiency, maintain quality, and contribute to the research work requirements for development of new products in a growing market. This position offers two exciting opportunities, firstly to develop your skills in a collaborative work setting that values faith, quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Secondly, to exercise and develop your faith by assisting with the establishment and development of the Pilgrim Saints of Jehovah religious organization. This is a six day a week co-vocational opportunity with a Sabbath Day of rest from sunset on Saturday to sunset on Sunday, during which time we recharge our spiritual batteries through worship, praise, devotion, study and service. Duties

Organize raw materials, operate manufacturing equipment used for mixing, blending and bottling, including material handling systems, establish and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
Handle industrial chemicals with care, ensuring proper storage, transfer, and disposal in compliance with local and State regulatory standards such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and
Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, including batch records, process logs, and incident reports.
Support research and development initiatives by preparing chemical formulations, conducting small-scale experiments, and recording results with precision.
Use material handling equipment to move raw materials and finished products within the facility.
Adhere to safety protocols including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), respiratory protection, and chemical agent handling procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the manufacturing and laboratory area to meet regulatory compliance standards.
Management training will be provided in a setting where faith and service guide the work of a motivated and diligent self-starter.
Help establish the doctrine, promote the culture and participate in the Pilgrim Saints of Jehovah organization. Live in compliance with the moral and ethical code of the Pilgrim Saints.
Having, acquiring or establishing a large family of your own would be expected.
Perform computer based tasks, such as basic graphic design, create excel spreadsheets, learn how to create and maintain a website and other computer based tasks.
Be willing to learn how to create budgets, manage cash flow, perform basic bookkeeping tasks, accounts receivable, accounts payable and account reconciliation.
Skills:

Understanding of lean and agile manufacturing principles to optimize processes and reduce waste.
Knowledge of basic chemistry will be very useful.
Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge for providing assitance with the troubleshooting of equipment issues and maintenance or repairs
Entry level experience with chemical testing and the ability to perform basic quality control testing in a manufacturing or research setting.
Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements, formulations, and quality control checks. Attention to detail is a necessary skill.
Ability to follow manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in production processes.
Hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing or production environment will be an advantage. Full training will be provided where needed.
Commitment to safety protocol adherence including PPE usage, respiratory protection, and chemical handling procedures.
Ability to perform equipment setup or minor repairs as needed.
Some experience with sales and customer facing service will be advantageous.
