Position Summary
The President of Eden Christian Academy serves as the visionary leader, responsible for managing the entire organization while directly supervising the Director of Human Resources, Chief Operations Officer, Chief Academic Officer, and Director of Development. This role requires a strong background in business leadership and a commitment to Christian values, ensuring operational excellence, financial sustainability, and strategic growth. Reporting to the School Board, the President will carry out policies and programs that align with the school’s mission and promote its long-term success.
A proven leader with a passion for Christ-centered service, the President will oversee key fundraising initiatives to support capital needs, build and maintain donor relationships, and represent the school in the community to enhance its visibility and impact. This individual will advocate for the school’s Christian identity, inspiring others to invest in its mission and future.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- The school’s chief spiritual, educational, and social administrator, leading with ultimate and overall responsibility for the school, including board relations, curriculum and instruction, student life, business affairs, admissions, advancement, and casting a compelling Christ-honoring vision for the future.
- Live out, at all times, his or her conviction and calling to be the protector and promoter of ECA’s covenant Christian identity, leading the school spiritually with authentic faith and consistently using biblical discretion in decision-making.
- Engage with the board, faculty, staff, and community to lead the development of strategic plans that are regularly measured for progress and communicated to the appropriate constituents for accountability.
- Accountable to the full Board of Directors and works to seek their active support and involvement. They will act as the link between the Board of Directors and the other staff members and provide the Board with requested information that will support the governance process and uphold the mission of ECA.
- Manage strategic academic and organizational leadership that translates into actionable objectives and plans that support the ECA’s strategy and mission.
- Oversee the development and implementation of objectives and long-range plans for curriculum, instructional evaluation, and improvement while assuring continuous examination and revision of curriculum guides and course study.
- Manage the development and direction of educational standards and student achievement metrics.
- Remain keenly informed of current curricular and educational thoughts, trends, practices, and proposed legislation that will impact ECA.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of the annual budget and tuition structure for Board approval.
- Cultivate and nurture a professional learning environment, ensuring processes and systems are in place to recruit, select, develop, and retain a high-performing and diverse staff; engage in leadership succession planning by developing direct reports through mentoring, coaching, and direct/constructive feedback.
- Appoint, retire, and determine the rank and compensation (subject to applicable limitations in any budget approved by the Board of Directors) of all employees of Eden Christian Academy.
- Lead all fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, capital campaigns, and annual giving, to ensure ECA has the resources needed for growth and program development. Build and maintain relationships with key donors, alumni, and community stakeholders to secure financial support.
- Represent ECA at community events, fundraising events, and conferences leveraging external relations to enhance the school’s visibility, build strategic partnerships, and advance its mission.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field, or significant experience in senior leadership roles managing complex organizations.
- Confess a relationship with Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior and exhibit a mature faith that is evidenced through dedication to prayer, regular church attendance, Bible study and loving the Lord and others.
- Demonstrate qualities of a servant leader, called by God to a position of service at ECA (2 Tim. 2:15-16), with the ability to model Christ-like behavior in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40).
- Possess a strong background in business leadership, with a proven track record in strategic planning, organizational management, financial oversight, and team leadership.
- Agree with and support ECA’s mission, doctrinal statements, vision and governing policies, demonstrating a deep commitment to advancing the mission of Christ-centered education.
- Cannot have a spouse who is an employee of ECA.
- Must already have enrolled or will enroll eligible school-aged children at ECA unless the Board of Directors approves an exception on a case-by-case basis.
- Provide acceptable PA DOE employment clearances dated within one year: FBI Fingerprint/ Act 114 Federal Criminal Background Check (Identogo Service Code 1KG6TR), Act 151 State Child Abuse Background Report, and Act 34 PA State Police Background Clearance.
- Basic personal computer skills (Gmail, Word, Excel) and a commitment to leveraging technology to support organizational goals.
- Basic understanding of the philosophy of Christian education and a passion for advancing it in a Christ-centered community.
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with others, provide visionary leadership, and inspire excellence in faculty, staff, and students.
Physical Requirements to Fulfill the Essential Functions of this Job
- Move about classrooms and hallways and supervise students and staff
- Climb the stairs to reach the classrooms/offices on high floors at all campuses
- Have sufficient vision to allow for active supervision and interaction with students
- Have the ability to quickly summon help when an emergency arises
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Compensation
- Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
- Benefits for full-time 12 month employees includes medical and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 403b with 58% employer match (caps and vesting restrictions apply), 75% tuition discount for any children attending Eden Christian Academy, 12 paid holidays, accrued paid vacation and sick days (per handbook accrual rates.)
