Chief Executive Officer Job Description

Unbound Now, a leading anti-human trafficking and survivor support organization, is offering this exciting opportunity for someone with a proven track record of successful leadership and nonprofit development experience to leverage established relationships and build new partnerships to support our frontline work in the fight against human trafficking. 

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

Compensation: $180,000-250,000 negotiable

Job Status: Full-time, exempt

Job Summary: The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for carrying, communicating, and ensuring the execution of the mission and vision of Unbound Now; securing sufficient resources to achieve the mission and vision of Unbound Now; providing leadership across the organization and within the anti-trafficking and survivor support field; cultivating an overall staff culture that reflects the values of Unbound Now; and nurturing essential partnerships.

  • Pass all required criminal background checks and employment eligibility verification
  • Approved by the board
  • Minimum 6 years of non-profit executive leadership experience, with extensive knowledge of the non-profit industry. For profit experience is highly valued. 
  • Proven non-profit development success:
    • Personal fundraising goal attainment 
    • Development team leadership goal attainment
  • Reside in one of Unbound Now’s Texas service areas
  • Regular travel to Unbound Now’s offices and for meeting with donors
  • Persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent public speaking skills
  • Ability to engage others (including staff, donors, and board members) in Unbound Now’s mission
  • Strong marketing and public relations experience with ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent coalition building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and able to achieve consensus

Benefits:  Unbound Now offers a generous benefits package including health insurance for employee and family with premiums covered by employer; employer-paid life insurance for employee; and the option to participate in Unbound Now’s retirement plan (with 3% salary match after 90 days with a 1-year vesting period). Dental and Vision are available at employee expense.

Availability: Generally, 8:30-5:30 Monday-Friday; plus some evenings and weekends. Significant domestic travel expected.

Job Responsibilities:

      • 70% Development
        • Serve as the Chief Fundraiser for Unbound Now. Ensure sufficient resources for Unbound Now to achieve its mission through healthy cash flow and robust reserves. Identify and cultivate corporate, individual, and foundation supporters. Lead and support staff to actively engage with and energize donors. Hold staff accountable for fundraising efforts and outcomes. 
        • When Unbound Now launches services in a new region, build funding partnerships and relationships with community leaders at the new location.
      • 30%  Operations 
        • Oversee and ensure the execution of the strategic plan in alignment with Unbound Now’s mission, vision, and values. The CEO will have flexibility to arrange the organizational chart as they see fit.
        • Cultivate a mission-driven, positive staff culture reflecting Unbound Now’s values
        • Provide inspirational leadership, support, and accountability to the organization as a whole in fulfilling and advancing the mission of Unbound Now
        • Keep Unbound Now relevant and at the forefront of anti-trafficking and survivor support work
        • Ensure completion of strategy development, annual budget, and annual audit
        • Work closely with the Board Chair and update the board regularly. Cultivate a strong and transparent working relationship with the Board and ensure open communication about financial and programmatic performance. Assist in the recruitment of new board members and in building a highly engaged Board.

Reports to: Unbound Now Board
