Christian Secondary School Teacher — Mathematics

Cherokee Christian School is a Pre-K through 12 classical Christian school located in beautiful Woodstock, Georgia, a wooded northern suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Our modern and tree-shaded 15-acre campus is centrally located and enjoys easy access to major freeways into Atlanta and Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.  We are committed to providing our students with a learning environment that enables them to grow in knowledge, wisdom, and virtue so that they are prepared for a life of fruitful service and faithfulness to the Lord.  Our classical Christian curriculum is based upon a time-tested educational system which establishes a biblical worldview, incorporates methods based on natural phases of intellectual and spiritual development, cultivates the seven Christian virtues, trains students in reasoning through the Trivium (Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric), and engages student in “the great conversation” through the historical Great Books.

We are currently seeking highly qualified candidates, who are passionate about classical Christian education, to fill a potential opening for a Secondary School (grades 7 through 12) Mathematics teacher for the 24-25 school year.  The responsibilities are:

• Serve as classroom teacher assigned to teach mathematics courses in the Secondary School grades at a Christian classical school;
• Provide direct instruction to students in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and Geometry;
• If qualified and interested in doing so, provide direct instruction in Algebra II, Algebra III, Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Statistics;
• Provide instruction using the classical method and Socratic dialectical techniques; and,
• Provide instruction using the classical method and Socratic dialectical techniques; and,

Participate as a member of the professional staff involved in student engagement life on campus including being available to oversee and moderate student activities and clubs, coaching athletics, participating in administrative responsibilities, and provide academic support mentoring to struggling students.

Cherokee Christian School is a covenant Christian school, meaning that faculty, employees, school families, and students are all active, practicing members of, or regularly attend, a biblically-orthodox Protestant or Evangelical Christian church.  Our classical Christian curriculum also integrates Christian belief and biblical principles in all subject areas.  A successful applicant must be an active, practicing Christian and regularly attend a biblically orthodox Protestant or Evangelical Christian church.

Starting salary range is $42,000 to $55,000 depending upon education and experience.  CCS offers faculty members a full employee benefits program, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and other benefits.  Faculty members also receive a very generous tuition discount for their children attending CCS.
