SUMMARY

This position will use Quickbooks and contribution software to process accounts payable and weekly donations. It is a piece of the administrative team whose role is to provide a support structure for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be preached in word and deed through the New City churches and Restore St. Louis ministries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable. Data entry for weekly check disbursement for churches and Restore St. Louis ministries.
  • Accounts Receivable. Record weekly church and RSL donations and deposits in Quickbooks
  • Assist with payroll
    • Collect and consolidate hourly payroll data from supervisors.
    • Onboard new employees into online HR portal for payroll
    • Audit benefits elections and payroll deductions
  • Financial reporting.  Generate financial reports as requested by Bookkeeper and Executive Administrator from Quickbooks and contribution files.
  • Support the Executive Administrator’s role of providing financial and HR oversight of church and RSL ministries.
  • Systems.  Coordinate effective use of financial data processing.
  • Relationships.  Maintain productive rapport with employees, peers, congregational members, officers, and vendors while working to inform, resolve conflicts, and deal with communication and sensitive issues.
  • Other functions.  Handle additional roles and projects as opportunity and organizational needs dictate.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Business knowledge and experience.  Familiar with Quickbooks, GAAP and all related functions including accounts payable, receivables, and bank reconciliation.
  • Professional.  Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills; Ability to balance workload / priorities to meet frequent time sensitive deliverables and organization needs, as well as support longer-term, strategically oriented projects and process improvement efforts.  Maintain discretion and confidentiality in tactfully handling sensitive information.  Ability to convey complex information in clear concise written/oral form.
  • Teamwork.  Proven servant leadership, communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills; Ability to operate as a team member and to work respectfully with all superiors and subordinates.
  • Organizational affinity. Thorough understanding of diverse church activities is extremely helpful.  Mature Christian faith.  Commitment to support the church’s mission / ministry through business operations.
  • Personal productivity tools.  Proficient in MS Excel; Experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Access is beneficial. Competent in MS Word.
